As a follow-up from “The Very Exciting Piece of News” post, Screamscape reported that Disney might consider working around the theme from the ABC television hit “LOST” from popular demand. According to Movieline.com, WDI mentioned the idea of such attraction at the International Associations of Amusement Parks and Attractions (IAPPA) show in Las Vegas. The rumor is that this lost attraction would be a motion-based type dark ride featuring Kuka Arm technology (like at the new Sum of All Thrills attraction at Epcot’s Innoventions Pavilion- an attraction where riders sit on a crane-like “arm” and a screen covers them so that it feels as though they are riding the ride as the arm lifts them and goes side to side). Universal is also using this type of technology for the new Harry Potter dark ride that is to be located in their Wizarding World of Harry Potter land at Universal Orlando’s Island’s of Adventure (opening Spring 2010). Keep in mind that they have just started planning/talking about this attraction and it is unknown if it will even make it to any of the Disney parks. If it does, it’s likely that it could be the successor to the recently shut-down “Honey, I Shrunk the Audience” 3-D show after EO is done showing for about three to six months in the theater.
